My Experience with Electone by Dermapure

My Electone Journey

I am so excited to be sharing my experience thus far with the Electone treatment that is available via Dermapure Clinics. I first approached them with interest when someone I knew shared their experience with electric muscle stimulation (EMS) and I was blown away by their results.

While the treatment can be used to target various areas of the body I was mainly interested in working on my abdominal area as that is one of the hardest areas to see results from even when you’re incorporating exercise and good eating habits.

If you’re new here, you may or may not know that I’m a mom of 3 kids – my youngest being born when I was 33 years old. I’m now just months away from turning 40 and over the years I’ve come to learn how challenging it can be to work on yourself and get the results you want. Years of juggling the balance of motherhood and self care has made me realize that it’s ok to get a little help to make you feel good and even jumpstart something that you’ve always wanted for yourself.

Where I Started

Last winter, I decided I was going to become a little more consistent with my exercise because I was feeling the desire to move my body. Two months into this new routine and I was finding myself getting up before the kids woke up for school to exercise – something I never thought I could/would ever do for me! It made me feel good, it got it out of the way so I wouldn’t give up on it and naturally I started to see the benefits energy-wise both mentally and physically.

Four months into this exercise journey came the opportunity to try Electone which I am very grateful for. I think the treatment compliments an already established routine or the start of one beautifully because once you see the results from one treatment, you’ll be motivated to maintain it!

What Is Electone?

Electone is a system that uses pads to stimulate your muscles with electrical pulses and there are 3 different settings: Drain, Tone, Sculpt. It is a 30 minute intense workout targeting a specific body area- in my case, the abdomen and flanks. Imagine doing 1200 crunches in 30 minutes! It is quite the workout! You can read more about the treatment here.

This blog post will share my experiences with the Drain function as that is the setting that is selected for your first few sessions.

What Is An Electone Appointment Like?

When you arrive for your appointment you will be brought to one of the treatment rooms with the Electone machine in it. I like to use the washroom before I go in to make sure I’m completely relaxed and there is no added tension in the body. Depending on the part of the body you’re treating you may be asked to change into some shorts or a medical thong (LOL) and just a sports bra so do come prepared and dress comfortably!

You’ll hop on the bed and lay back and the technician will apply the straps across your abdomen followed by the pads that will deliver the electrical stimulation. These will feel cold as they apply a gel on the pads in order for the conduction to work.

Once you’re all set with the pads in place, your technician will start to turn up the intensity of the machine. It is such an interesting sensation as you feel your muscles contracting without you actually doing anything but laying there HOWEVER rest assured, it is NOT a walk in the park. LOL.

You only have 30 minutes with the machine so the goal is to be uncomfortable the entire time you are there. This means turning up intensity every 2-3 minutes and building up your tolerance during the appointment. This is not a numbers game- as in- no number setting is equal to how impressive your results will be. It is all based on your own strength to begin with and you CAN see results in as little as one treatment!

My First Before & After

After my first Drain session, I was shocked to see the results I did – I was told it could be up to 3 sessions but I saw some small yet valid changes to my abs after the treatment. Results can vary with every body!

You can see from the side by side that there is a lot less volume in the midsection area after just one treatment!

Where We Are So Far

After my initial consultation (which is FREE by the way!) we agreed that we would do 10 sessions in the ab/flank area and 10 sessions in the glute/inner thigh area. I have completed 6/10 treatments on my abdomen area and I am just blown away by the results!! From this point forward we are moving into SCULPT mode to bring in some more definition, but here is where we are so far:

Isn’t it incredible?! Considering that I do not dedicate any days specifically to working out my core or follow an extremely strict diet, these results are amazing. It is definitely a boost of motivation to encourage me to keep doing what I’m doing outside of these sessions to maintain the results.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Do you have to keep doing these Electone sessions forever to keep the results?

A. No! However it is ideal to do some “maintenance sessions” once or twice a year for that boost of intensity in your work out. Just with any exercise, if you continue to do some, you will maintain your results – if you don’t, you’ll start to lose the muscle tone.

Q. What is the cost of a session?

A. The cost is $250 per session and each session can target a singular or multiple areas depending on the desired results and the amount of pads required for those results. For this reason, its best to book a FREE consultation to go over what you hope to get out of the experience. In my case, one session includes abdomen AND flanks and my future sessions will include glutes AND inner thigh. It all depends on how many pads will need to be applied.

Q. Where is Dermapure located?

A. Dermapure has many locations across Canada. Specifically in BC, there is a location in Kelowna, Chilliwack and Vancouver! This means if you travel between cities/provinces you could book multiple sessions so you don’t miss a treatment as all clinics are interconnected!

Q. Do you have a discount code?

A. YES! You can use the code THECAKEMAMA20 for 20% off ANY non physician/non injectable treatment that Dermapure offers.

As always you can connect with me over on Instagram to ask any questions you may have regarding this treatment. You can also watch the video below to get a glimpse of the process! Stay tuned for the next post that will share the final results after 10 sessions!
