Vegan Mushroom Gravy

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cremini mushrooms
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 cup vegan butter
  • 2 tbsp avocado oil
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 3 cups vegetable broth
  • 1-2 tsp maple syrup

Instructions

  • Wash and chop mushrooms into small pieces.
  • Peel and mince garlic.
  • In a sauce pan add avocado oil, mushrooms and garlic and saute until golden brown.
  • Add vegan butter and allow to melt. Then add flour and stir until thick.
  • Slowly pour vegetable broth and whisk into mushroom mixture.
  • Finish off with the maple syrup and allow to simmer to let the flavours combine.

Notes

You could do white mushrooms for this recipe but cremini mushrooms bring a lot of delicious flavor!
