The Parisian Kitty Party

Last month, I had the pleasure of putting together a themed birthday party for my middle daughter Olivia, who absolutely adores all things French and all things cat related!

If she had it her way, she’d probably rather be living in an apartment full of cats overlooking the Eiffel Tower, but for now she’ll just have to settle for her dream as a party theme. LOL!

My girls are the type that love to plan ahead for birthdays, so it’s pretty safe to say that this party has been in the works for just under a year LOL! Having a baker in the house also has it’s perks when it comes to special occasions and I absolutely love having free reign over desserts!

Our color palette consisted of classic soft pinks, gold and the crisp monochromatic touch of black and white. For sweet treats, I created some sugar cookies, meringue swirls and homemade caramel marshmallows – yum! The birthday girl requested a vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream AND some homemade caramel sauce layered in between. It was a decadent and delicious centerpiece that fortunately everyone enjoyed!

The kids had a great time creating their own charm bracelets, playing “Meow-sical” chairs and pinning the nose on the kitty. We had also had a photo booth set up with fun Parisian themed props with my eldest daughter snapping pics with her polaroid. A fun day indeed!

Each guest got to go home with a custom set of hair ties created by Plum Polkadot and a little container of pink cotton candy!

I hope we’ve inspired you to think outside the box when it comes to birthday party planning!
