Love is certainly in the air these days and I don’t know about you, but I’ve been loving all the sweet pink and red things filling up my social media feeds lately!

Last month I got together with Kelly of Little Rose Party Company to create a fun, beautiful and delicious dessert table and table scape just in time for Valentine’s Day!

Cuteness overload! Kelly and I had so much fun tapping into our own creative ideas to bring this concept to life. From the darling balloon heart back drop, the pretty pink plates and dipped cutlery to the perfect little cake topper- Kelly definitely flexed her party decorating skills in this shoot!

I definitely don’t think I need to tell you how much I adore all the things pink, LOL, so for this shoot, I created some darling pink cakes that shared a similar theme: hearts! (cue the heart eyes emoji here!)

For the main cake I created some ombre pink geometric hearts made of chocolate using a chocolate mold and filled them about half way. I used Wilton candy melts in pink and white and mixed different ratios to create an ombre look. Then I popped the mold in the freezer for about 5 minutes and once they were ready, I secured them on to the cake with a little dollop of buttercream on the back of the heart!

My pink buttercream cake has hearts piped into it right side up and up side down! It was my fun take on a “knitted” look and I just love how it turned out. This was achieved by using an open star tip with pink buttercream icing. Simply start at the top of the cake creating a heart shape and work your way down until you get to the bottom edge. Taking in to account the space from the angles of the heart, pipe upside down hearts working from the bottom back up to the top of the cake and so on until the cake is completely covered. So cute right!

Finally, this pretty open star piped cake couldn’t be ANY easier if you tried! Using a 6B tip, I piped the entire cake and topped each star with an edible candy heart by Wilton!

Can we take a moment and talk about this gorgeous balloon garland centerpiece?! Kelly knocked it out of the park with this unique take on balloons (they’re not just for backdrops or floating in the air!) and I just love the use of flowers intermixed within the balloons- fun, yet soft and romantic!
